Uh, Jim, I Believe They’re Called the Laws of Physics

Jim Brenneman, who contributes cartoons to CNN’s “Warp” blog, doodled a cartoon showing that those who died in the Minneapolis bridge tragedy just didn’t yell for God loud enough, and then added the following bit of sage wisdom:

It’s amazing how many people survived the tragedy in Minneapolis and even if you don’t believe in a higher power you have to admit that some unknown force played a big part.

It’s more amazing, Jim, that you penned that entire sentence without even once pausing to reflect on the many uses of the comma.

As for the “unknown force,” I highly doubt the government report on the bridge failure will include references to mysterious forces, magical elves, or the baby Jesus.

Maybe they just don’t want us to know!

Think about that in the context of Bush administration political hacks altering NASA scientific papers that cast doubt on the theory of creationism and you might reconsider that statement.
